What you can expect
Feel free to come as you are. We are primarily concerned with building our relationships with God and each other, not external things.
Because we are a new church, this list should give you a feel for how we hope to look in a handful of years as we grow and develop:
- Multigenerational
- Young Adult/Young Family Outreach
- Education Opportunity from a Christian Worldview
- Intergenerational Discipleship
- Growth in the Spiritual Disciplines
- Inspiring and Intimate Worship
- Inspiring and Dynamic Preaching and Teaching
- People are Committed to Community Transformation and Engagement
- Intentional Outreach
- Pastors/Ministers/Missionaries out of the Body of Lay People
This philosophy of ministry will describe how we want to get there:
First, the ministry behind the pulpit will be exegetical and verse-by-verse in nature. I believe this is the best and surest way of exposing the church and the unsaved to the whole counsel of God, promoting holistic discipleship, and engaging in systematic evangelism.
Second, the music ministry will be fairly simple and straightforward. Worship will be given a prominent place in the service along with the preaching and teaching. The style of the music will be largely contemporary with some hymns, typically sung in an updated fashion.
Third, the services themselves will be given to two primary emphases each and every week, Worship and the Word, and this pattern will be broken as little as possible. This two-pronged approach will constitute the overriding tone for all of the ministries and activities of the church.
Fourth, I consider it necessary to have healthy and focused multigenerational and other relevant ministries. As the congregation and the needs grow, we will apply our efforts and budget to creating these ministries.
Fifth, I consider it necessary to be a light in our local culture. It will be a priority from the very beginning to find ways to meet needs in the community, to disciple believers in a Christian worldview, and to find effective ways of presenting the truth and grace of the Gospel to those who live around us.
Sixth, believing in the priesthood of all believers and the task of pastors and teachers to equip their congregation for ministry, we will strive to be a church where people are able to discover and apply the calling God has placed upon their lives.
Seventh, and ultimately, it is my desire to make our people the best loved and best fed believers possible.
